If you’re ready to give up on God, then know this that God isn’t ready to give up on you. With everything coming against you in life, God wants you to know that He still has great and wonderful plans for you.
You may not sense this reality because of what you’re going through at the moment, or what you’ve been going through for some time. Maybe you have an illness or disease. Maybe you’re financially in trouble, or are relationally devastated. But God can still do great things through you.
The Apostle Paul knew and experienced this reality. Somewhere in his journeys he contracted a debilitating disease keeping him from doing what he thought he needed to do, but the Lord told him differently.
“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NKJV)
While jailed in Rome the Apostle Paul wrote, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
No matter what you’re going through, God isn’t finished with you. How do I know, because you’re still here and reading this devotional.
Consider these words Jesus spoke to the believers in Philadelphia. “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” (Revelation 3:8 NKJV)
God has great plans for your life, plans to prosper you, and to give you a future and a hope, Jeremiah 29:11.
God isn’t finished with you.
