Choose Today Whom You Will Serve

We all have choices to make in this life, and the outcome of our lives and the lives of our loved ones depends on our making the right choices. No pressure here!!!

The Lord challenges us to make these choices, however, whether we want to or not.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” (Deuteronomy 30:19)

This was also Elijah’s challenge to the people of Israel. “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him” (1 Kings 18:21).

The choice is inevitable. They couldn’t stay neutral. They could either choose to follow the Lord God of heaven and earth, or follow the false gods of the world.

To follow God is to obey His commandments, and when we obey His commandments then all the blessings of God will be ours, including an abundant increase in both our physical and spiritual lives, Deuteronomy 28:1-14.

But if we choose to not obey the Lord and follow the way of the world around us then we can expect the opposite, which will then be passed down to our children.

“Your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron … And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever.” (Deuteronomy 28:23, 46)

It all comes down to a choice, and a choice we make every day. So choose to follow the Lord, His word, will, and way today and receive the blessings of life, and not only will you be blessed by the Lord, but also your kids and grandkids.

Joshua said, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
