Take A Walk with God

If you want to know what pleases God, take a walk with Him. This was Enoch’s testimony.

“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him” (Genesis 5:24 NKJV).

“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him;’ for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5 NKJV)

To walk with God means more than merely taking a walk. It’s a way of life. It affects every area of our lives starting from the inside and working it’s way out. It starts at the very center of our being and affects every fiber of who we are.

The problem, and why we really don’t have this sort of testimony, is because we try to walk in both the world and in Jesus. And we’ve compromised our faith to the point where it’s no longer pleasing to the Lord.

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV)

We need to understand we’ve been bought with a price, the blood of Jesus Christ; therefore we’re to glorify God in both our body and spirit, and no longer be a slave to this world, 1 Corinthians 6:20; 7:23.

The prophet Micah said, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NKJV)

To walk with God means we need to humble ourselves and get rid of the pride that continues to trip us up.

To begin that walk with God, pray, read the Bible, and allow His word to get into your heart and soul, and then you’ll begin to know what pleases God, and at the same time you’ll be pleasing to God.
