Don’t Forget God

Don’t Forget God While Living Life

If we just let life happen, we could miss out on eternity. Knowing that the end could come at any time, Jesus gave to us this piece of advice.

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.” (Luke 21:34)

Today we live in a time where knowledge has increased, but at the same it’s getting harder for people to find God, to live for Him, and to hear His word for their lives.

Is there a correlation? Jesus says there is.

It’s hard to live for the Lord when we have so much going on, not to mention it’s dangerous to our spiritual life. Jesus says to be careful not to allow the cares of this world to overshadow the things of God.

“The cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Mark 4:19)

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24)

If your focus in life is on anything other than God and His word, then you run the risk of missing out on an eternity with God, or you will miss out on the rewards awaiting you in heaven.

The Apostle Paul said,

“If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:15)

Yes it is important to work, but not at the expense of forgetting about God.

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)

Seek after God. Let Him be the most important thing.
