Pray About Everything

Pray About Everything

To counter worry, pray about what you’re worrying about. Our problem is that we don’t take time to pray; yet we have all the time in the world to worry. So if would pray about all the things we’re worrying about, then we’d have a lot less to worry about.

Now, we have two options whenever worry sets in. We can either panic or pray. The Apostle Paul said this about our worries and our need for prayer.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Worry takes away our peace and leaves us open to all sorts of problems. But when we pray and give thanks for all that God has done, then not only will He provide for all our needs, protect and guide us through this life, but He’ll also give us His peace, which goes far beyond anything we could ever possibly imagine.

So we need to pray about everything, both the big stuff and little stuff. And let me just say that if it’s big enough to worry about; then it’s big enough to pray about.

The Apostle Peter said, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you” (1 Peter 5:7).

Instead of “Give all your worries and cares to God,” the King James Version says, “Casting all your care upon him.” To cast something means to unload it, to let it go, to drop it. And prayer is how we accomplish this; therefore, prayer is an incredible stress reliever.

Our problem, however, is that we cast our worries onto the Lord the same way we fish. Once we cast it out, we reel it back in again.
